You're a real heroine! You've got a husband, little children and do business at the same time! I admire you!

 

To my mind, you don't need to learn so many languages, for example, Italian. If I were you I'd concentrate on one - English. No doubt, it's the main language of business and trade nowadays. If you speak English, people will understand you practically everywhere, and I'm sure most of your Italian, German or Turkish business partners CAN speak English more or less. If they can't, have a phrase-book for businessmen at hand, that's all.

 

I was going to the country in the morning but changed my mind. It's too cold and windy outdoors. I'd rather stay at home and have a nap after lunch...

And what about you? Do you have any days off? What are you going to do today or tomorrow? I saw you and your blue-eyed son in the photo. You're both charming!

Thank you very much for your kind words.

I like Italian language it is pronounce like a melody

 

 

Unfortunately I have not days off

I always want to sleep . My smaller son go to bed at 9. o*clock pm and get up at 7 o*clock in the morning .

But I went to sleep at 2- 3 o*clock at night.

Today as always, children will sleep from 13.00 up to nearly 15.00 , at 4 o *clock they will drink a tea with sweets and we will go for a walk.

Tomorrow I should go for the ordering goods.

Glad to hear from you! You speak English with ease and I'm sure you don't sound like Cockney! But you didn't answer my question. Is your German as fluent as English?

By the way, what do you need transcriptions for?

Just in case. If I wanted to illustrate the difference between Cockney and Standard English today, I couldn't do it. It's impossible to type transcriptions without Phonetic TM. Where is it?

Oh, I see, Lady LG, you are talking about Posh English, the one spoken by the royal family, that's fantastic!

As far as I know, the King's or Queen's English is simular to Standard English. The main rules for it were given in 1906 by the Fowler brothers in their famous book "The King's English". It still sounds advice for any student, whether English is his mother tongue or whether it's a foreign language:

 

1. Prefer the familiar word to the far-fetched.

2. Prefer the concrete word to the abstract.

3. Prefer the single word to the circumlocution (многоречивость)

4. Prefer the short word to the long.

5. Prefer the Saxon word to the Romance.

 

The simpler the better as I see it! And what is good enough for the Queen is good enough for me. Of course, it doesn't concern literary English, it can't be enjoyable to read without extensive vocabulary.

The answer is: Friday was the name of his horse.

I think both words are correct here but I would say like you: especially.

 

especially - особенно, главным образом

particularly - особым образом, в частности (from the root - part)
