As you all know, my birthday is on new year's day, so i usually get more presents than other people.

I always want perfume and of course i wouldn't mind emeralds and diamonds.

Last time when victorian and i were having a romantic evening, he promised to present to me the biggest diamond that nature has ever created...but he was a bit drunk, so he might have forgotten

Look at the first word. If it is singular, say IS.

 

Example:

 

There IS a teacher and some students in the pub.

 

There ARE some students and a teacher in the pub.
