         Dear friends, I enjoy reading short inspiring stories, like this. I’m sure you’ll like it.

 

                                                                     Sand and Stone

 

   One day two friends were walking through the desert. During their journey they had an argument, and one man said a lot of offensive words to the other. The one who got insulted, without saying a word, took a stick and wrote on the sand:

        "TODAY MY BEST FRIEND INSULTED ME"

   They kept on walking until they found an oasis and decided to have a swim. The one, whose feelings had been hurt, couldn’t swim very well. He got stuck in the mud and  started drowning, but his friend saved him. The man took a sharp nail and wrote on a stone:

        "TODAY MY BEST FRIEND SAVED MY LIFE."

   The man who had offended and saved his best friend asked him, "After I hurt you, you wrote on the sand and now

you're writing on the stone, why?"

    The other man replied: "When someone hurts us, we should write it down on sand where winds of forgiveness can erase it away.

But when someone does anything good for us, we must engrave it in stone where no wind can ever erase it."

5. If you refuse a mince pie at Christmas dinner, you will have bad luck for the coming day.

6. If you cut a mince pie, you’ll “cut your luck” too.

7. If a baby is born on Christmas Day, it will have a special fortune.

8. If you eat a raw egg before eating anything else on Christmas morning, you will be able to carry heavy weights.

9. If it snows on Christmas Day, Easter will be green.

10. You will have as many happy months in the coming year, as the number of houses you eat mince pies during Christmas time.
