"Even Leo Tolstoi didn't eat meat!!!" - "Yes, he did!!!"

12 chairs again

:)

What book?

One guy is lying on velvet cushions in his chamber, but suddenly he hears someone knocking on the door. It is dark.

He lights his cigarette, pours himself a glass of whisky (it is not in the book, but I am absolutely sure he did it) and begins to wonder “Oh, who can that be? At this hour! Maybe it’s my ex-girlfriend? What does she want from me again??? I am tired of her, I don’t even want to hear her name, never more!”

He opens the door, but there is no girlfriend there. He sees someone in black…

“I won’t smoke this stuff again,” he thinks, “never more!”

What nationality is the author of the book?

Is the book classical or modern?

What did the guy smoke? A joint? (косяк, травка)

The book isn't easy to guess. Could you give us some more information, please? :)

Well...in this book he didn't actually smoke a joint, but i doubt he would have ever written such a book if he hadn't smoked a joint.

Hint number one: it's a poem. The poem has more than 7 variants of translation into russian.

Hint number two: I have written five lines in this riddle. Look at the two last words in lines number 3 and 5.

victorian knows the answer for sure, but he is not here now :)

Lady LG, you also must know it!

The author of the poem is a little с приветом.

He was afraid of catalepsy.

If you had told me that the poem had more than seven translations, I would have guessed it long ago. It's "The Raven" by Edgar Allan Poe.

...Quoth the Raven "Nevermore" - И Ворон каркнул...(или гаркнул) :)

I've just invented a riddle.

Link on video:

This is song from Molly Malone. :)

There is text in 'Internet' of this song (to see below).

There is difference between text in video and text from 'Internet'.

Let's correct the text below, so to correspond to text in video.

---------------

In Dublin's fair city, where the girls are so pretty

I first set my eyes on sweet Molly Malone

As she wheeled her wheelbarrow through streets broad and narrow

Crying cockles and mussels alive a-live O!

A-live a-live O! A-live a-live O!

Crying cockles and mussels alive a-live O!

She was a fishmonger and sure it was no wonder

For so were her father and mother before

And they both wheeled their barrows through streets broad and narrow

Crying cockles and mussels alive a-live O!

A-live a-live O! A-live a-live O!

Crying cockles and mussels alive a-live O!

She died of a fever and no one could save her

And that was the end of sweet Molly Malone

Now her ghost wheels her barrow through streets broad and narrow

Crying cockles and mussels alive a-live O!

A-live a-live O! A-live a-live O!

Crying cockles and mussels alive a-live O!

A-live a-live O! A-live a-live O!

Crying cockles and mussels alive a-live O!

Molly will be delighted! I've already listened to this song before. It sounds rhythmic and melodic.

Can you imagine our dear Molly with a wheelbarrow? (тачка)

OK, but let Molly correct the text herself. I'm sure it will give her a lot of pleasure. :)

And now a very scary story for everybody...

Mysterious Death :)

It happened in the hospital’s Intensive Care ward where patients always died in the same bed, on Sunday morning at 11 a.m., regardless of the state of their health.

This puzzled the doctors and some of them even thought that it was something supernatural. Why death ?

So the doctors decided to go down to the “unlucky” ward to investigate the cause of the incidents. On the next Sunday morning a few minutes before 11 a.m. the doctors and nurses were nervously waiting outside the ward to see for themselves what the terrible phenomenon was about. Some were holding wooden crosses, prayer books and other holly objects to protect themselves from the evil…

Just when the clock struck 11…… Santa Singh, a part-time sweeper, entered the ward and unplugged the life support system so that he could use the vacuum cleaner…

ward - палата

regardless - независимо

investigate - исследовать

holly - святой

unplug – отсоединять

Lady LG,

You were the firsrt to guess the poem about a guy and his ex-girlfried named Lenore,

but victorian is so anxious to get a prize...

May I give this bottle of whisky to him?

You are kind, i know you won't mind

;)

Serdar,

unfortunately I can't watch any vidos until the 1 of September, my turtle-slow-dacha-internet doesn't allow me this.

Who sings this song on the video?

There are so many versions of this song...

I'm afraid I can't agree with you. I still insist it's "The Raven" by Edgar Poe. But let's wait for the author to answer.

The prize will be mine! ;)

(Sorry, I didn't see Molly's post: we were writing at the same time)
